Sometimes the Smallest Things Lift Me So Much

This morning I had to catch the train to the doctor's office, and I was feeling less than great.  As I walked up on the platform a lovely German lady down the way was singing, "oh what a beautiful morning,"  as she walked up to a group of women.  I "moseied" down that way.  "Moseied" is a good cowboy word from Texas meaning strolling nonchalantly...

I sat down, and even though I could not understand most of what they were saying, I understood that these women were all good friends, and off on an adventure together.  Women understand the sounds of long standing friendship... and when I had listened awhile I felt so much better.  It was almost like I was a part of the group, so I asked them if I could take their picture.  As I knew they would, they consented.  I didn't learn a single name, because at about that time the train arrived, but it didn't matter.

My love of Germany is founded in so many things, the beauty of nature here, the Germans' love of flowers and growing things, the architecture, the history, the castles and other beautiful places... but most of all the people...

I Am Wondering About These Guys

Since I am new to Germany, I really am not familiar with all the customs of the Carnival Festival.  So I am not certain if there is any special significance of these characters I photographed at Monday's parade in Neu-Isenburg.  Perhaps someone can fill me in on the significance of the characters, if there is any.

We so enjoyed attending the parade in Neu-Isenburg Germany.  Familiar with the Mardi Gras parades of New Orleans where my husband was born and raised, we enjoyed this parade just as much!  We found the parades very similar in flavor and style, everything is all in fun!  It is all about the people who join together to celebrate making time in life for fun!

There Is So Much To Write About In Neu-Isenburg!

This country fascinates me!  Everywhere I look, something new catches my eye.  I don't know for sure, but I am almost certain there is no more captivating and innovative a town in Germany than Neu Isenburg.  It is lovely, filled with picturesque sights, very old and beautiful structures, and all of the latest and most innovative things as well, but is the people which make it so special.  Relationships and the communication which goes on within them are the exact essence of the human experience.  In a place where the common people, not just those whose job it is to do so, welcome strangers from a foreign country with such ease and grace, you know you have found a rare and wonderful experience.  So it has been for us in Neu-Isenburg.  Many neighbors, church members, our landlady, her architect and his young and beautiful associate, all these charming folks have warmed our hearts and made us to feel so welcome in Germany.  We hope to share many memories with them all, and to form lifetime relationships.  That means my delicious little kitchen will be busy!

I Have Always Loved Carrousels!

Sometimes as a photographer, you fall in love with a particular subject matter, and you just cannot make enough pictures of a delightful scene.  That is what happened to me at the Neu-Isenburg, Germany local community Christmas Market.  As I said, I have always loved carrousels!  Of course my favorite subject matter is always beautiful children.  The children of Neu-Isenburg are truly beautiful children!
