How Beautiul the Rhine Was This Weekend!

It was Germany in winter, it was a beautiful sunny day on the Rhine.  We drove to Rudesheim, the road winds with the Rhine up into the mountains.  There are castles all along the way, but just the houses and the shops, many of them so old and some of them ancient, fascinate me.  I have learned that Germany has as many vineyards as it does trains.

There are little hotels everywhere...

 

 If you have a left over castle part, just build onto it...  I think that is what they do... 

I am going to have to research that...

What an incredible country!

We Took a Little Road Trip This Weekend!

Saturday we took a nice little trip and made new friends in Germany.
 All the photos were taken through the windshield.

The Trains of Germany Fascinate Me!

This old one, which I saw on a recent trip, enchanted me.  As I was taking pictures, a charming German tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to the train approaching me from behind.  My husband Randy and the man laughed and laughed as I squealed in delight and began snapping away as this tiny little beauty approached me on the street, then passed by looking so quaint, as though stolen from a movie about something long ago.  Hope you enjoy her photos!  She is the Sonderfahrt Number 93, coming down the tracks...

 

As you can tell, she is tiny, barely wider than one person.  I intend to ride this train!
